As I got a lot more active on Twitter recently, I noticed that some Tweepers use the hastag #Podcast. It got my attention. I love to listen to self-improvement and business audiobooks, and a few years ago, I bought a bunch of those mostly from Brian Tracy, the well-known speaker and author.
I had heard of podcasts, but never really got into that. So, I chose to create a list on Twitter specifically for accounts that use that hashtag. By the way, if you’re interested, you can subscribe to that list by clicking here.
As always, when I jump into something, I start to notice bits of information about it. Since I recently bought a Samsung tablet, I figured the best way to listen to podcasts would be with an app.
After reading a couple of articles reviewing such apps, I chose the Pocket Casts app. It’s easy to use, it gets the job done.
The first podcast I subscribed to is Michael Hyatt’s “This Is Your Life.” I became a fan of Michael after seeing his blog, which in my opinion is one of the best looking blogs out there, so much that I bought the theme, and he does mention not to hesitate to build our blogs to look like his, he even describes how he did it. But I digress.
The second podcast I chose is Darren Rowse’s “Become a Pro Blogger.” Then I saw “The Nice Guys on Business” podcast. The 4th podcast is from Rachel Rofé, called “A Better Life.” I subscribed to it after I got some very nice interactions with her on Twitter. She really likes to interact with her followers, and it shows.
I want to build my online business the best way I can, using tools that will allow me to manage my time effectively. I don’t usually watch videos, because in my opinion it’s too time consuming. Podcasts can be listened to while doing other things, like driving, lying down to take a break, or even while in the bath. Of course, you get the best results if you really focus on what is being said. I need to really learn to do that.
I will try other podcasts, to try and pinpoint the ones that bring me the most satisfaction. What I love is that it’s free, and you get such a choice of topics, no need to continue buying audiobooks.
As you get interested in Podcasts, I’m sure you’ll find many that suit your interests. Don’t hesitate to give me feedback about the topic.
